Welcome to the Oregon School District!

We are glad you're here! The Oregon School District's new student enrollment is completed through a centralized process. We encourage families new to the District to register their child/children as soon as possible so we can provide the best possible service.

We are here to assist and support you through the enrollment process and have created a list of our most frequently asked questions below. Please contact our District Registrar with any questions. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Enrollment Eligibility

In accordance with the Oregon School District Board Policy, any student being admitted to the Oregon School District must reside within the boundaries of the district, except as otherwise permitted by law. The administration shall verify the residence of students enrolled in district schools.

The Oregon School District shall not discriminate in admissions to any school. All students shall have equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from all curricular, co-curricular, pupil services, recreational or other programs provided by the District.

4K Enrollment

Eligbility

Students are eligible for the 2024-2025 4K Program if they are

Residents of the Oregon School District
Age 4 on or before September 1, 2024
Age 5 and have not attended 4K
Planning on attending Kindergarten in 2025-2026

Notes

There are no early admissions.
4K is designed to be a one-year program.
There are a limited number of open-enrollment spaces for children who reside in another district that offers 4K.

Kindergarten Enrollment

Welcome Kindergarten Families! We are so glad you're here and are excited for you and your kindergarten student to begin your journey in our amazing school community. The information you need to get started is below, including instructions and links for registering. The process differs slightly depending on whether you joined us for 4K or if you are new to our school district. We also know that enrolling your student in kindergarten can bring about many questions and we are here to help! We encourage you to watch our Day in the Life of a Kindergartener video to get a sense of what your student will experience in their first year. Know that you are always free to contact us with any questions. We can't wait to meet you!

A Day in Kindergarten

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2025-26 school year is January 2 through January 31, 2025.Children are eligible to enroll if their fifth birthday is on or before September 1, 2025. If you are planning for your child to attend kindergarten in the Oregon School District, please enroll your child during this time.

The Oregon School District offers full-day kindergarten in each of our four elementary schools. Two elementary schools are located in the Village of Oregon (Netherwood Knoll Elementary and Prairie View Elementary), one is located in the Village of Brooklyn (Brooklyn Elementary), and one in the City of Fitchburg (Forest Edge Elementary). Your child will be assigned a school based on:

Student's home address (below is our current boundary map)*

Sibling(s) current elementary school attendance

The District reserves the right to place students at schools outside the attendance area to balance class sizes; bus transportation will be available in these cases.

Families currently attending 4K in the Oregon School District

All students who are currently attending 4K in the Oregon School District will receive a Kindergarten Confirmation Form via email. Please confirm that your student will continue in the Oregon School District for Kindergarten by completing this form. A Google form will be provided for families to fill out on January 2, 2025. Students currently attending our 4K Program are already enrolled in the Oregon School District and do not need to complete the enrollment process again.

Families NOT currently attending OSD for 4K: How to Enroll

If your student is NOT currently enrolled in the Oregon School District 4K program, there are two things you must do to enroll your student in kindergarten:

Enroll with the Oregon School District (you may do this online or in person):

Online enrollment is done through our Campus Portal system:

If you have an existing Campus Portal account (after signing in, select the Online Registration link on the left-hand side.
If you do not have a Campus Portal account
In-person enrollment is done at the Oregon School District Office located at 123 East Grove St., Oregon; hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Please call 608-835-4000 if you would like to schedule an in-person enrollment appointment.

NOTE: students not currently enrolled in our 4K program will be required to provide proof of birth and residency (see Required Enrollment Materials above).

Open Enrollment

If the Oregon School District Board of Education determines there is availability in its schools, classes and/or programs, it shall allow nonresident students residing in the State of Wisconsin, who qualify, to enroll in the Oregon School District through an Open Enrollment Program during the forthcoming year in accordance with Wisconsin law.
